Progressives For Pennsylvania: Our National Obsession With Sarah Palin
Oh No!! Sarah Palin said she isn't going to run for another term as Governor in Alaska! Could this mean she is coming back to haunt the American Public???
Oh No!! Sarah Palin said she isn't going to run for another term as Governor in Alaska! Could this mean she is coming back to haunt the American Public???
Our Single Payer Rally was a success!! The press was there and we even got coverage on a local Cable Network. We Twittered about the event; PCN (Pennsylvania Cable Network) filmed the whole thing.
I enjoyed meeting Larry Smith, star of Michael Moore's SiCKO. He said he is able to travel a little more with wife Donna, who spoke at the rally. And both of them have been healthy since their illnesses, which was highlighted in the movie SiCKO.
Pictured here is the very passionate Chuck Pennachio, who is front and center when it comes to passing Single Payer here in the Commonwealth. We are very fortunate and dare I say blessed to have him working for this cause here. Jerry Policoff and Chuck are instrumental in getting HB1660 to the point where it is, now.
I spoke with a few fellow Pregressive 4 Pennsylvania friends at the rally, and we discussed all the meetings we had for Single Payer sitting around Jerry's table, hashing out strategy and writing and rewriting brochures for the Single Payer HB 1660/SB 400.
And now here we are. At the rally.
Next week, four of us will be at the annual meeting for all the Mayors in PA, meeting at the newly opened Convention Center in downtown Lancaster. The meeting will last three days. This will mostly be an opportunity to discuss health care reform with all the Mayors, and all the other politicians who will be attending the event, including Health Insurance Executives.
Could there be a rumble??
The good news for all of us is that the Mayors have already endorsed Single Payer. So we do not have to convince anyone. We just have to show up.
Savings to the Commonwealth will be $353,000,000 when Single Payer is passed here in Pennsylvania.
Here is the check that we then took to Governor Rendell's office after the rally!!
Pretty impressive, isn't it?
I made a Squidoo Lens about the rally, complete with video footage and more pictures!!
These are indeed exciting times. I know that passing Single Payer is one of the biggest and most important event of my lifetime, and the best thing I can do for future generations, and also the best possible way I can be of service to my country.
But we do need more troops!! Please consider joining this great cause!!!
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Amanda Goldston was on "Moon, Moo & You: The Collective Wisdom" again, 6/2/09, this time discussing the meaning of Taro Cards and how to develop intuition by using them. I received Amanda's book in the mail that very day: "How To Develop Your Intuition ThroughTaro." I am familiar with the cards and inherited my mother's deck when she died. The deck of cards both Amanda and I use is the Rider Waite deck, and I am fortunate that my deck is the original, with more vivid colors.
Donna Smith Of SicKo fame will be one of our Speakers!!
Download SP-Harrisburg June 11, 2009 Rally ( 5-25-09)
The above link is a flyer for the rally we are holding on June 11th on the Capitol steps in Harrisburg. The event is a work in progress, and we’ll send out more info as the event evolves, but it is going to be both an enjoyable experience and an important one. We need to demonstrate to the media and to our Legislators that the people of Pennsylvania are serious about getting single-payer healthcare bill HB 1660 and SB 400 passed and signed into law.
Please spread the word to everyone you know, and please bring everyone who can walk, ride, drive or crawl to Harrisburg on June 11th.
Within a few days the HC4APA web site will be a reliable repository for up-to-date information on this event. We hope to have car pools organized (please let me know if you need a ride or are planning to drive and have room for passengers). You can also get there by train or bus, and there will be plenty of parking if you drive. You are also encouraged to come early and lobby members of the Legislature and/or their staffs before the rally.
See you in Harrisburg. Write down the date:
June 11th at 11 AM (live entertainment); speakers at 1130 AM until 1230 PM… on the capitol steps in Harrisburg!

Velma Gallant, aka the Queen Of Joy, is a testament of someone who has gone
through some rough times in her life and has overcome these adversities triumphantly!
She has a passion for teaching others how to do the same in their own lives, and this
is exactly what we discussed on the show, 5/5/9.
Velma said one of the important things she learned is that she has control over her own
joy, even when challenges rise up and do not go away--In your face sort of challenges!
This is where the spiritual tool chest comes in that we referred to throughout the show!
Velma's book is called: "Juicy Bites Of Welcome Changes." In essence, the book is a
compilation of spiritual tools we can all use when times are rough-and when they are not!!
One tool is called the "Dump and Flip"--Velma used this tool during a time when she had many
in her face kind of challenges which she needed to consciously release, and she did so with this tool.
She was about to lose her home and was worried about her three year old son. Velma had
been teaching the Law Of Attraction for the past three years and wanted to put what she
knew to the test.
This is how she described "Dump and Flip." Take one piece of paper and fold it in half. On
the left hand side, Dump your fears and worries. On the right hand of the folded paper,
you flip the worries 180 degrees.
DUMP: I hate it when the creditors call me and I have nothing I can say that satisfies them.
FLIP: Next time they call, we will celebrate together, because my house will be paid off!!
And so on.
Compost the side of the paper with all the DUMPS.
Place the Flips into your prayer box.
The Flips are your Life Visions. Cherish them and nurture them. Do not harbor DOUBT
about any of these things!
Do this tool on an as needed basis.
One of Velma's clients made a scrap book of her visions!!
Velma uses a whole wall to place all of her visions!!
Concentrate on the end result joyfully! Think of each piece of the puzzle with all five senses!
Technocolor vision it!!
We discussed the amazing experience Joan had on Second Life the night a few of us assisted
Joan in the visualization of her dream house on the beach!! We kept at it until she had the
vision firmly in her mind's eye!
Velma's next adventure is starting a "Community Coaching program:"Joy Made Easy dot com.
This is a safe environment where people can give and receiving coaching.
Weekly teleseminars and content is posted regularly.
Velma is hosting a conference in August 8-9 called Joy-tas-tic Women dot com.Ten percent
of the proceeds go to what is called, "providence children dot com" which supports autistic
children and children with special needs.
We discussed New Years Resolutions. Most people come up with resolutions they think
they "should" do, like losing weight or quit smoking.
That's why these seldom happen, because a person's heart just isn't into the should or the ought.
A resoluton from the heart is an evolution, says Velma. Plans for Moon, Moo & You came about at the New
Year and we had a vision about the show. So now we say Moon, Moo & You was a New Year's Evolution.
A New Years Evolutions is when you think of the passions you want to
achieve, and you watch these evolve as the year matures.
Tam of Milagro World asked Velma about her concept of "Plurking!"
Work plus play is plurk. Always think of a way to celebrate everything you do. Don't allow the
concept of "Work" get in the way of your having fun--thus Plurk!
Work is a four letter word, says Velma. She adds play to everything. She always asks, "How
can I make this more fun?"
And the mirror exercise. Everyday, look in the mirror and tell your self, "I love you."
Do this even if you think you can't or don't want to. When you shower, say that you love every
part of your body as you wash it!
Extend this to the people in your world. When people do seemingly stupid things, think
to yourself, "They are doing the best that they can with what they have.
"And so am I."
If you are unhappy at your job, learn to love everything about it before you leave it. You do
not have to believe: Simply let go of not believing. Let the space between the beliefs do its magic.
You may think it is irresponsible to leave your job to do what you love.
Journal this: What would it take to:
Shift your belief about responsibility to include:
I am being responsible to my spirit by living my dream.
This may take the I Love You Mirror work and lots of it to be able to truly
make this shift.
But for me, being responsible to my soul and my life purpose is the greatest responsibility of all!!
This was an idea that resonated deeply and I appreciate you, Velma, for helping me see this
Flip in my perspective!!

Captain Robert Lee was on "Moon, Moo and You: The Collective Wisdom"
4/28/9. Captain is a regular on the now famous Milagro World, Pat O'Bryan
forum. Cap has written five Electronic Books that are on sale on-line, plus
has other internet marketing enterprises he is involved in.
Captain Rob lives the life we can all admire because he walks the walk. He
simplified his life, got out of debt, lives on a beautiful sail boat, and does what he
wants to do, whenever he wants to do it, whatever the time of day.
Cap says the sail boat is a metaphor for freedom in his life. He doesn't recommend
that everyone live on a sail boat, but that if a person wants to be free in whatever
way she defines free for herself, then his message will resonate with her.
Cap started out after college in Corporate America for three or four years, then was
led to the Homesteading Lifestyle and running his own home based businesses. He
was raised in a small family run business atmosphere, so his early life set the stage
for where he is, right now.
Disclaimer: we all agreed that there is nothing wrong with Corporate America, but for
those of us engaged in the Internet Marketing end of things, Corporate America is
antithetical to what or who we aspire to be in this life time.
In Rob's new EBook, "Living The Pirate's Lifestyle," he lays out the steps in logical
order of what he did and does to simplify and and get free of debt and dependence on
toys and things.
On the show, Rob used the example of credit cards, and getting rid of them entirely.
Or cleaning out all of the unnecessary things in our lives we have not used in 2-3 years.
He suggests taking time off to contemplate exactly what you want out of life, and how
you plan to execute your vision.
Then Do It!!
Joan made a comment that in this current economic crisis, slowing down, getting rid of
unnecessary "stuff" and thus getting closer to one's core values is perhaps the single
most important thing we can "do!"
Joesph Campbell stepped back during the Great Depression and contemplated his life
for the years it took for the Great Depression to begin and end, and came up with the famous
"Follow Your Bliss" and his great contribution to the application of Myth and Heroic Pathways
in modern society!
Rob said he has always been able to see a goal in his mind's eye and drive towards it
relentlessly, in a Napoleon Hill sort of way.
He gave the example of driving to Disney World with a car load of kids, and coming up on
a roadblock. Would you say, "Sorry everyone, we have to turn around and go home?"
No, you would take the detours and along the way figure out another way to get there.
At this point, Amanda Goldston came on the line, author of the newly published book
entitled: "Developing Your Intuition Through Taro."
She said that you don't need a lot of money to live the life of your dreams. By scaling back, and
simplifying, you can live on very little money.
This is indeed a revelation!
Joan said she realized she was never going to graduate from life: the "when" this happens,
"then" I'll be happy mentality. That "Now" is the only time that there is.
Rob described his life as it is now.
He can work on his internet marketing endeavors, or go fishing all day with the kids. The life
of freedom can be as simple as this.
Insightful NaNa came on the line, known for her website: "Better Living For Today's Women."
She said she loved the life of flexibility that the Pirate Lifestyle affords. She can take time off and
work in the yard, or play with her grandchildren, then work until 3 am if she wants to.
And she doesn't have to ask anyone's permission!
We discussed some techy issues such as deciding to use Aweber vs 1 Shopping Cart, vs Click
Bank vs PayPal, which was tremendously interesting to all of us but perhaps not so much
for all of you!
All of us vowed to keep doing what we are doing. Ebooks are a thing of the future that
"Writer's Digest" recently validated with a cover story on the topic.
Don't allow the techy hurdles hold you back, the Cap said. Someone is always there to help you.
This show was great food for thought. I recommend that you listen if you want to live the life
of your dreams, if you want to work from your home, if you want to escape the Corporate
America strangle hold.
The online community is amazing and I am so happy we found each other in this tremendously
supportive environment.
And as for all the pirates out there?
ARRRRRRRRR!!
Go Git 'Em!!
